This course will address various Egress and Exiting topics and floor areas. \nThis seminar includes the following learning objectives: \n\nUnderstanding egress from rooms\, suites\, and floor areas\nRequirements for public corridor requirements\nApplication of travel distance\nBrief discussion on security considerations in relation to egress and exiting\n\n\nFacilitator | Kim Karn\, Principal; Kim brings over 21 years of experience working with Provincial\, National & International Building Codes. Kim refined her skills as a Code consultant in Ontario and Alberta with Larden Muniak Consulting Inc. She then provided in-house consulting for Riddell Kurcazba Architecture Engineering Interior Design Ltd. before incorporating her own consulting firm in 2015. \nWith her knowledge\, Kim has provided Code analyses for many existing and proposed buildings\, focusing on life- and fire-safety. Kim has performed Code reviews\, developed alternative solutions\, and conducted audits for various projects including arenas\, exhibition halls\, high rises\, multi-family residential\, hospitals\, and industrial buildings. \nKim has presented continuing education seminars related to Building Codes and life safety subject matter since 2004.
