DESCRIPTION:Presentation Description:\nHome. The definition of what makes a house a home may not have changed\, but the disruption caused by the global health crisis has upended how we live in\, feel about and use our homes. As designers\, you play a vital role in helping your clients transform underutilized spaces and incorporate colors and materials that help them “live well” in their homes. This course will explore the dynamics impacting residential design in the COVID era\, identify the role that paint technologies can play in helping promote indoor air quality\, review how intrinsic color is in the well-being discussion\, and identify design elements that harness the power of nature to promote physical and emotional well-being. \nLearning Objectives: \n\nDefine “Home”: Understand the trends influencing residential design in the COVID-era.\nPut the Walls to Work: Learn how coating technologies can help contribute to well-being\, with respect to indoor air quality\, odors\, mold & mildew and disease-causing bacteria.\nIncorporating Nature: Incorporate strategies for including biophilic design elements that harness the power of nature to promote physical and emotional well-being.\nColor & Well-Being: Review the role color plays in promoting a feeling of well-being within a space.\n\nREGISTER NOW\nPresenter:  \nEmily Grundy \nDesigner Account Executive \nSherwin-Williams \nsherwin-williams.com \nPresenter bio:\nEmily supports the residential interior designer market with colour and paint specifications\, she also provides continuing education for designers and industry partners. She works with the Canadian design account team and is dedicated to the exploration of colour and trends with the Sherwin-Williams colour forecast team. \nThroughout her 10 + year career with Sherwin-Williams\, Emily has become a certified presenter of the International Design Continuing Education Council\, an Industry Committee Member of the Interior Designers of Canada\, an allied member of the Decorators and Designers Association of Canada and an Emerging Professionals Committee member of the Association of Registered Interior Designers of Ontario. She currently holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from OCAD University in Toronto. \nThis webinar accounts for one IDCEC hour. Participants will receive their certificates of completion via email following the webinar and will need to self report their hours. \nThis webinar will be offered in English.
