SUMMARY:Webinar: Barrier Free - Accessible Design for the Built Environment
DESCRIPTION:Presentation Description: \nMandated requirements for accessibility in Canada and demand from an aging population is creating a growing need for barrier-free bathrooms. Today’s accessibility compliant bathroom no longer has to be utilitarian or “institutional” in its design. Design options are enhanced through the use of tile and innovative construction methods. The result is beautiful bathrooms that also adhere to accessibility standards for accessible design. \nThis webinar will examine ways in which barrier-free environments can be customized to include various design elements while remaining compliant for accessibility. It will also address why bonded waterproofing technology lends itself to the construction requirements of barrier-free design. \nPresenter: \nJen Metcalfe \nArchitectural Manager\, Alberta\, Saskatchewan\, Manitoba \nSchluter Systems (Canada) Inc. \nhttps://www.schluter.ca \nPresenter bio: \nJen has been in the tile industry for 13 years and has been with Schluter for two years. Jen loves being able to provide CEUs and education to the design and architectural community on how to enhance their installation practices using the best products on the market. \nREGISTER NOW\n  \nThis webinar accounts for one IDCEC approved HSW hour. Participants will receive their certificates of completion via email following the webinar\, and will need to self report their hours. \nThis webinar will be offered in English.
